I am THRILLED to share the news that The Pin the Map Project has joined the Mode Media portfolio as one of their newest lifestyle blogs, under their travel vertical. Mode Media (formerly Glam Media) is one of the fastest growing online media properties in the world and is #7 in the the top 100 web properties (as reported by Comscore). With over 406 million monthly readers, Mode Media is a huge player in the women’s lifestyle space and is home to such popular sites as Glam.com, Foodie.com and more. Working with some of the world’s top brands-including Chanel, Covergirl, L’Oreal and more-Mode Media is a great place for The Pin the Map Project and a huge opportunity!

What to Expect?

The Pin the Map Project will remain the same and continue to share wanderlust-inducing content for travelers to enjoy! Joining Mode Media will not change The Pin the Map Project but rather will enhance the website by allowing relevant companies to partner with The Pin the Map Project and create opportunities for unique collaboration and content creation. Perhaps this will make for exciting giveaways, new brand ads on the page or cool content-regardless, you can expect exciting things to come!

What about Advertising & Content?

Yes, the inclusion of The Pin the Map Project in the Mode Media network will allow for brands who are interested in reaching travelers to advertise on my website. That said, I retain ultimate control of The Pin the Map Project and will never look to inundante my readers with advertising or sponsored content; as it is my priority and loyalty to the readers to keep the content on my site genuine and travel-focused. That said, you’ll continue to see a strong balance between guest posts, my content and sponsored posts.

How Did The Pin the Map Project Join Mode Media?

In my recent post THE HONEST GUIDE TO BECOMING A TRAVEL BLOGGER, I dive into more detail about how The Pin the Map Project was launched; but essentially I began this website almost two years ago with the intention of making travel a priority and inspiring readers to explore the world. Since the launch of The Pin the Map Project, I have steadily grown my blog in readership and following until it grew to the point that I felt I could approach a media network, like Mode Media, and confidently toss my hat in the ring for consideration. Having come from an advertising background (and having even worked on a global brand that advertised with bloggers on Mode Media), it was always a goal to one day grow The Pin the Map Project to the point that it could join a successful network to help take the website to the next level. It has taken two years of effort, writing and working on my blog on a daily basis but-as I like to say, if you have a passion for what you write about and a desire to make your blog a sustainable career-then anyone can do the same! If you have a blog and are interested in joining Mode Media, you can apply here (and list me as a referral!).
