I can still remember the first time I laid eyes on the Eiffel Tower on my first visit to Paris. It was winter and I had just stepped off the Metro, looked around to the gather my bearings and let out a squeal (yes, a squeal) of delight when I spotted the iconic structure towering at the end of the cobblestone street. I had seen Paris romanticized in films, had seen the Eiffel Tower adored in art and idolized in photography but nothing compared to the sheer inspiration of standing in front of a structure that overlooks a city of dreamers and lovers. Since that first visit, I have been to Paris many times and-be it my first visit or 20th-the Eiffel Tower still holds that allure and promise of taking my breath away.

My first time spotting Le Tour Eiffel is just one experience of many that I carry around from my travels. Like a kaleidoscope of moments, I can vividly remember falling in love on the streets of Paris, my solo travels in Argentina, falling asleep on the sand in Cartagena after a night of dancing with friends, tasting fresh chocolate in the Panamanian jungles, tryingt fish & chips in London, snorkleing in the Caribbean, inching down the steps of Chichen Itza in Mexico-they all are experiences that are close to my heart and that I call upon in moments when I need a reminder of life’s endless beauty, adventure and magic. If life is truly made up of the moments we share, then our experiences are-in a word-priceless.

Such an amazing opportunity - there are many experiences from Tinggly calling out to me. While I love the tropical island life and scuba diving, I would choose an experience that I cannot obtain myself. That is why I would choose the “Become a Member of a Local Family in Bali” experience. I plan on visiting Indonesia in the next year and I can take myself to a beach side resort and find water activities. What I cannot do is snap my fingers and live with a local, and really experience their life. It would be great to be taken in by a family, spend time with them, do what they do. I think it would be spiritual, zen-ful, and eye opening as to what their life and standards are. I think I’d come back with more focus and a better mind after spending time with the Indonesians in their home.

    Great opportunity again!

So many experiences to choose from! I hope to visit Iceland this year and would love the “Discover Miracles of Iceland Nature Tour” that Tinggly offers! As someone who lives in a big city, I love enjoying nature when I can and have dreamed of seeing the blue lagoon and natural wonders that Iceland has to offer.

Interesting…Most getaways are in extremely warm climes. I’m an urban traveler with a preference for cooler weather. I’m also a lesbian who would be killed or jailed in many of the countries and cities listed just for being myself. So, I choose Belgium and the Chocolate Walking Tour and Workshop. I don’t love chocolate in the intense way so many other folks so, but I do know that Belgium chocolate is the only kind to choose when making my chocolate decisions and that it is excellent. Chocolate in small amounts is a real treat; Overindulging makes it very ordinary… My partner and I have been wanting to visit Belgium for awhile now and this would be a great opportunity to do so. Thanks so much for posting this giveaway. Cheers;) Stephanie @Steph@910

I’m getting married in Bali this May and I can think of no better way to take the plunge than to experience the extreme white water rafting trip in Indonesia while I’m there! It would also be a nice time out from the entertaining we’ll be doing for our crazy big families.

I have always wanted to visit India, and even more so after reading a day-to-day excursion that was featured in the latest issue of Naturally Danny Seo. I’d love to visit the Taj Mahal. I’d also love to experience the vibrant, energetic and culture.

I would choose the Dine with an Astronaut in Florida experience! I’ve always wanted to be an astronaut and a space explorer. But that will never be, well, not that I can see in the foreseeable future. But to be able to speak to someone and live through them vicariously, even for a short period of time would be absolutely incredible! I would love to hear about all that they had to go through to become an astronaut. And to see the Kennedy Space Centre with amazing relics…quite the experience indeed! Great contest…thank you!

Growing up, Asia was never one of those places I even considered wanting to see. I visited Thailand once for work last year though, and fell in love with it. Even though I was only there for a 3-day business trip, I swore I’d get back there eventually to experience what Thailand is really like. A few months ago, my girlfriend and I both quit our jobs and have taken on full-time traveling! The Unforgettable Two-Day Trekking in Chiang Mai experience sounds like the perfect way to get to know the Thai culture. It’s hard to find a better experience to write and photograph about, what with the lush jungles, wild animals and friendly locals.

My boyfriend and I recently quit our jobs to pursue our dream of full-time travel. It was a huge risk and took quite a bit of courage to finally take the plunge. It has been 10 months since that happened and I can’t imagine ever going back to a normal 9-5 career now! We love exploring new cultures, going on adventures, and sharing them with the world. I’ve learned that life is far too short to be stuck in a cubicle doing something you aren’t passionate about. Soon we will be heading to South Korea to teach English and would be overjoyed to win the Extreme White Water Rafting in Indonesia for Two package. It looks like a thrilling way to experience the breathtaking beauty of the rainforest in Bali.

Absolutely love the idea of gifting experiences over materialistic items! Thanks!

    Hey Nikki,

I am going to Mexico next week(!) and would LOVE to partake in the Authentic Mexican Cooking Class in Puerto Morelos while we’re there. We’re doing a road trip around the Yucatan Peninsula and we have a free day in Puerto Morelos before we fly home! This is too much of a coincidence to ignore ;). We don’t have any cooking activities planned so a cooking class would end off our trip quite nicely and it’d be a great way learn more about Mexican/Mayan cuisine. My mouth is watering just thinking about it…

… and if I couldn’t use it for that trip because it’s so soon, Slovenia is high on my list so I’d love to take in one of the extreme activities there!

And as hard as it is for me to believe, I don’t have Instagram. Yet.

    Hi Nikki!

I’ve put a lot of thought into this and have been perusing Tinggly’s website since you first posted this give away. I’m from Hawaii and moved to the Midwest last fall. Since then, a huge part of me has gone missing and I miss being in the ocean more than anything. This leads me to my choice of Tinggly’s Half Day 2-Tank Barrier Reef Dive in Belize! Belize has always been on my bucket list and I’d love to experience the Barrier Reef. I mean, what better way to get back in touch with my inner mermaid?!

    As always,

    Hi Nikki,

I spent 3 hours looking at every single experience on the Tinggly website last week. I think that your blog Pin the Map Project is outstanding. I love all things travel and I have been following you for weeks on Instagram. I hope that you enjoyed Georgia this week!

The experience I would choose is the Visit The Burj Khalifa in Dhabi. I am going home to Australia next month to see my family after living in the United States for 3 years. I haven’t been able to get back to see my family and I am going to stop for 24 hours in Dubai to spend my 24th birthday there.

Here is my back story and why this experience is important to me:
When I was 19 years old I bought a house and I never thought I would ever be able to afford to travel. My house was an
expensive weekly payment and there was no way I that I would be able to afford anything for a long time. When I met my husband 3 and a half years ago in Perth, Australia my priorities changed. I realized that I could have a house at any time in my life and it was important to be able to share and create new experiences when I was young. The stress of the house was something that I could put off to another time. My husband was born and raised in Chicago, IL and was traveling Australia on a year work/holiday visa to film a documentary when I met him. Which by the way you can get the visa at- http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/462.aspx for around $250 to enable you to live and work in Australia for up to 12 months. I highly recommend that you do this since it is so easy! So, when it came time for him to go home he asked me to come on a six month vacation with him to the U.S. Never having been on a plane, I packed one suitcase hoping to bring another full suitcase home after my travels. I also only had enough to pay my debts off before I left so I left my home country with $33 in my bank account just hoping for a miracle. Six months went on and I had traveled various places around the U.S, experiencing things that I never considered possible.

A month before I had to leave we started talking about the possibility of tying the knot and not having to start a long distance relationship. Once we decided it was a great idea he popped the question. We were married 12 days later with only three witnesses (his family members). We then moved from Chicago to New York to begin our married lives together. It has now been 2 and a half years and I am hangin’ to see my family. These last three years have been such an unexpected journey and it has taught me how to be the person I am today. To move at the age of 20 to another country with nothing but $33 and a suitcase was scary but I did hoping to have the time of my life (which I have). As soon as I moved to New York I was traveling alone to Long Island and New Jersey exploring when my husband had to work. I have had a hard time coping with various life changing events that have happened without my family and friends close by and not knowing anyone in this huge city. My in laws also live sparingly throughout the U.S. I have been strong and have made it through many ups and downs, hard financial times and it has also felt very lonely at times too. When I look back though my story is unique, it is beautiful. How two people from two different countries were able to marry and live in the U.S after just 9 months of dating because of the love they shared. I am very proud that I was able to move so far away from everything that I have known.

I want to stand on top of the world, at the highest point of the Burj Khalifa, in the tallest building in the world. I owe it to myself to see what the world actually looks like from underneath me. I have always wanted to experience this and I think that it would be the most powerful experience that I would ever have.

Thank you @disqus_4p4vAXBiWC:disqus and Tinggly for the opportunity to participate. I love to travel and I will definitely recommend you to my friends and family- because we all know how much Australian’s like to travel 😉

I will also love to do as many Tinggly experiences as I can in future. I think I will use them as a way to check off my travel bucket list.

    Thanks, again!
